This year we are venturing a bit further away than normal for a two day drive out to the beautiful, mountainous LOVELAND, COLORADO! We will be leaving EARLY on Saturday, June 15th, 2024 and returning late on Saturday, June 22nd, 2024.
All current 8th-12th grade students are invited to participate and can find out more information about the trip below. You will also be able to click the link below to register your student for the trip! |
MORE INFORMATION
WHO IS INVITED | All current 8th-12th grade students are invited to participate and can find out more information about the trip below. We also encourage students to bring friends! It's such a fun week and our philosophy is always- the more, the merrier!
COST | I do not yet have a cost, because it depends on how many students go, but it's looking like with increased costs for everything, we're looking at closer to $750 for the week depending on our numbers. HOWEVER, this should not prohibit you from registering your student for the mission trip, most of our students are able to fundraise the entire cost of their trip... we offer ways to fundraise the money so that you, hopefully, pay NOTHING outside of the $150 deposit- that's always our goal and we work with you to make that happen.
SERVING IN LOVELAND, COLORADO | We will be serving with GROUP (a new organization this year!), and we could be doing anything from maintenance projects to adult day programs, working with kids, sorting clothing or food at a pantry for unhoused people or there is even an opportunity to work at a horse therapy farm! We never can guarantee which opportunities we will have, so we always keep an open mind and remain flexible to where we are needed and are mentally prepared that we may be asked to do other things, instead of what we expect. :)
TO ENSURE YOUR STUDENT'S SPOT | We will need your $150 non-refundable deposit by FEBRUARY 18, 2024. Unfortunately, if your student decides to cancel their spot on the trip after this date, they will still be responsible for the full financial balance of the trip (unless another student can be found to take the spot). Sign ups are allowed up until May 1st, but there is no guarantee that there will be space available at the site.
MISSION TRIP HANG OUT(s) | The best way to get to know your fellow mission trippers (and possibly life long friends) is to attend our Sunday youth group. However, we know that isn't always possible. There will be a mission trip final meeting in the week(s) leading up to the trip that we hope everyone will attend. In the event that you are not able to attend, we can ensure that our mission trips foster an inviting and inclusive atmosphere where once you step into the van- you're going to feel like you've known everyone for your entire life (for better or for worse! ha!)
FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES | For fundraising this year, we will have:
+CARAMEL APPLE SALES (December)
+MARCH MADNESS (Feb/March)
+SUPPORT LETTERS TO MAIL OUT
+KIDS NIGHT OUT (Feb/March/April/May?)
I'm praying for each of your students that God might work through them and move them to participate in this trip. I have yet to speak to a student that ever regrets going on mission trip. Sometimes it's scary to think about spending a week away from home, and with some strangers (or upperclassman) but I can assure that we will be working all week to help everyone feel included (and our students are rockstars at that!) We also will have a couple of mandatory meetings once the weather is nicer where we can get to know one another!
