We are pleased to say that our mission trip location has been announced! We will be heading to Nashville, Tennessee, leaving EARLY on Sunday, June 13th, 2021 and returning late on Saturday, June 19th, 2021.
All current 8th-12th grade students are invited to participate and can find out more information about the trip below. You will also be able to click the link below to register your student for the trip! |
COST | I do not yet have a cost, because it depends on how many students go, but it's looking close to $600 for the week depending on our costs. HOWEVER, this should not prohibit you from registering your student for the mission trip, most of our students are able to fundraise the entire cost of their trip... and even in such a strange year, we will still offer ways to fundraise the money so that you, hopefully, pay NOTHING outside of the $150 deposit. (if you were registered for last year's trip, you do not need to pay the deposit again this year).
SERVING IN NASHVILLE | In Nashville we will (most likely) be working at soup kitchens, with the elderly, sorting donations, working in community gardens etc. but service opportunities may change with COVID restrictions etc. Due to COVID our group will be kept together for sleeping arrangements as well as serving opportunities, which will mean that we will all be best friends by the end of the week! I'm so excited for this aspect of it! So, if your student doesn't feel like they know anybody, fear not! We have a lot of students in the same boat and the fact that we will be all together all week means everyone will be "in on the jokes" that come out of the week and the group bonding will be INCREDIBLE. :)
TO ENSURE YOUR STUDENT'S SPOT | we are asking for a non-refundable deposit no later than APRIL 26th, 2021. If your student was signed up for the 2020 summer mission trip, your deposit from last year will If your child WAS NOT signed up for the 2020 summer mission trip, then we need a deposit for $150 per student (most of our students are able to fundraise the rest).
MISSION TRIP HANG OUT(s) | I would love to have a hang out of all the students that are interested in going on the trip (since there are so many new people) on Sunday, April 25th from 4-5:30PM during the high school youth group time. We will talk about the trip as well as try to foster some comfortability for the group coming together as a whole, maybe easing some nerves on joining a trip where you barely know anyone. :) I also encourage you that if your student hasn't been attending youth group already, I encourage you to start sending him/her so he/she can start to get to know the other students!!!
I'm praying for each of your students that God might work through them and move them to participate in this trip. I have yet to speak to a student that ever regrets going on mission trip. Sometimes it's scary to think about spending a week away from home, and with some strangers (or upperclassman) but I can assure that we will be working all week to help everyone feel included (and our students are rockstars at that!) We also will have a couple of mandatory meetings once the weather is nicer where we can get to know one another! See our STUDENT MINISTRY PAGE for our schedule.
